System identification

Exam Format:

• The exam will take place in computer rooms BC 07 - BC 08 on June 20, 2025 from 9:15 to 12:15. 
• All course materials available on Moodle (e.g. course-notes and slides) will be accessible during the exam. Ed discussion will not be available.  Students may bring printed documents if they wish. 

• The first part involves theoretical and practical multiple-choice questions to be answered on Moodle (30% of the final grade). The order of the questions and answer choices will be randomized. Incorrect answers will incur  negative points, but the total score for each question will not be negative.  
• The second part, requires students to identify a model for a dataset provided on Moodle, write a report and submit it via Moodle (40% of the final grade). Only MS-Word and Matlab is available on the computers. Students are advised to check in advance whether their code and template are compatible with the installed versions of Matlab and MS-Word.
• Only one pdf file must be submitted, named using the student's full name (e.g. john-smith.pdf for  John Smith).
• The total duration of the exam is 3 hours. Although it starts at 9:15, students must arrive by 9:00 to ensure there are no technical issues and that they can access Moodle and all required files.

• Students can upload a report template and any files that they produced during  computer exercise as a single zip file (max 50MB) the day before the exam. This must be uploaded under “File for the final exam” on the course Moodle page. During the exam, they may download this file for use in model identification. Note: when downloading this file, the web-browser may display "download is blocked ...”, however, the file should still appear in the “Downloads” folder. 
  

The students should come at least 15 min before starting the exam (at 9:15) to login on the system, downloading their files and fixing all technical problems.
