Examination

Exams requirements
The midterm and the final exam will test your grasps of the theory. This includes the theoretical and computational exercises possibly similar to the assignments from exercise sessions, and the proofs of the theorems from the class, except those denoted by (*). Likewise the extra proofs shown on the blackboard (which are not written in the slides) are not examined.

Midterm exam

  • 90 minutes, written, April 7, in-class, closed-book.
  • The midterm has the grade weight 15 %. The result can only help you, not hurt you, in the final exam. See the formula below.

Final exam

  • 3 hours, written, TBD.
  • The final grade will be calculated using the following formula:

final grade = max( final exam result, 0.85 * final exam result + 0.15 * midterm exam result )

Ed Forum Monitoring

The course staff will monitor and reply to questions during the following times on Ed. Replies outside of these hours may be sparse and irregular.

  • Tuesday 16.00-17.00
  • Thursday 10.00-11.00
  • Friday 16.00-17.00
