Description
This lecture series covers the Euler method of equilibrium for the assessment of characteristic equilibrium paths. Benchmark cases in structural stability as shown to explain how structures in general become stable, what is the role of imperfections on the equilibrium path. Modelling guidelines are provided depending on the category of failure mode. Solution algorithms are provided to identify both stable and unstable equilibrium paths.
