Description

Organization and Timing

Each week:

1) Lectures

  • Review material (textbooks and slides) before class
  • Class on Monday from 16h15-19h in CE6
  • Lecture notes will be provided

2) Guided exercise sessions

  • Class on Tuesday from 10h15-11h in SG1
  • Lecture notes will be provided  

3) Exercise sessions

  • Please sign up for a tutoring group using this link and please stay with your group
  • The coming week's problem set will be posted Saturday morning
  • Read and attempt exercise set beforehand
  • Join your tutoring group on Wednesday from 17h15-19h in the BS or CE buildings
  • Finish up the exercises after the tutoring session and before checking solutions
  • Solutions to the week's problem set will be posted Thursday evening for you to check

4) [OPTIONAL] Supplementary Q&A sessions

  • Sessions for PHYS-101(en) start September 30th and end December 11th. They will be held 
  • Office hours will be held on Tuesdays right after class (11h15) in room INF 019

5) Final exam
  • The Final Exam will take place at the SwissTech Convention Center on January 16th, 2026, at 9h15-12h45.
  • There will be two Review sessions prior to the exam for students to come and ask any questions they have (on the lectures, exercises, mock exams, etc.). They will be held on
    • Thursday, Jan. 8th (2026): 10h-12h in room ELD 020
    • Tuesday, Jan. 13th (2026): 10h-12h in room DIA 003
