Welcome to MSE 493!
Welcome to Engineered Living Materials!
In this 3 ECTS course, we aim to give you an overview of the exciting and emerging field of ELM research. We will accomplish this through studying cutting-edge research in the field, lab activities, and assignments that will ask you to think out of the box. At the same time, in this course you will further develop your critical thinking, reading, and communication skills.
Reading assignments will support a high level of dialog and discussion in the class & the poster session will give you a glimpse of what it is like to develop an independent research project and justify your ideas in a competitive environment, mimicking the realities of academic life.
The grading scheme is as follows:
Short assignments (individual) : 3 points
1 poster assignment + oral presentation (group): 3 points
Our main way of communicating with you is through the Moodle site, but we are also available for office hours on Tuesdays and during the course exercise sessions should any questions arise. For anything urgent, please email.
