Exercises Format
During the exercise hour, we will often work with Jupyter Notebooks. You can access them on EPFL's Noto server at go.epfl.ch/numerical-analysis-2025 or by clicking the link panel below. Due to various issues with Noto, we strongly encourage you setting up Jupyter Notebooks on your own laptops. You can find a detailed guide below.

Mock Exam
Instructions
Follow these instructions to set up your mock exam environment. If you are working on your own computer, you may skip the first step of the instructions:
- Turn on the computer and sign in with your GASPAR username and password (the same as for IS-Academia, Moodle, ...);
- Open a browser (e.g. Firefox) and go to the website vdi.epfl.ch;
- Choose VMWare Horizon HTML Access and log in with your GASPAR username and password;
- Choose the SB-MATH-WIN11 virtual machine client;
- Open a browser (e.g. Firefox) in the virtual machine and log into moodle.epfl.ch to download the file "Mock Exam - Notebook";
- Open the Jupyter Notebook application by double clicking the Jupyter Notebook icon on the Desktop of the virtual machine client;
- Find and open the file mock2024_notebook.ipynb you have downloaded from Moodle in the Jupyter Notebook file browser. It should be located in the "Downloads/" folder.
Warning: The set up instructions for the final exam may slightly differ from the ones for the mock exam.
