Course
The course has two parts:
1. In the first 7 weeks (until october31th) there will be an ex catedra course with exercises and simulation sessions
2. In the last 7 weeks, (November 3rd to December 19th), the students will work in group on an antenna design project. Durig this period, the students will have access to the TAs. The teachers will aslo be available to answer questions.
Grading
The course is a semestrial course "à contrôle continu". In the frame, the final grade for each student will consist on two parts: The first, a midterm test covering the theoretical part of the first seven weeks, and second taking into account the project done by the student. The presence at the mid-term and final presentation of the projects is compulsory.
Important dates
November 12th, 13:15- 16:00 midterm The midterm will take place in room MED 0 1418
December 17th, 13:15-17:15 project presentations
Information about the midterm
The midterm test will consist of 4 exercises. You will need to solve three of those at your choice, and not more (we will only correct three in any case)
The midterm is open book, meaning that you can have your slides and notes. No exercises allowed, no computers. However, it would be wise to bring a pocket calculator.
November 12th, 13:15- 16:00 midterm The midterm will take place in room MED 0 1418 on November 12 form 13:15 to 16:00
Important information
EM-simulations will be used for exercises and for the project. It is
important to install the simulator on your computer prior to the first
lesson on September 17th. The tutorial in the file below helps you doing so. If you have
difficulties installing the software, please contact the IT manager of
the Microwave and Antenna Group, Jiajun Li jiajun.li@epfl.ch
