Welcome to Advanced Composites in Engineering Structures course!

This site will be used to upload course materials, useful information and provide a forum to discuss course related matters among the teachers and students in an online environment.

Please feel free to post your questions on the course and your project and participate in the discussion forums as appropriate.

We look forward for an interactive course delivery via this medium to enhance your understanding of composites in engineering structures!

The course will be given on site (in person).

The lecture notes are provided on moodle before each class- starting from next week.

Week 2 - Basics of composites and manufacturing

Week 3 - Mechanics of composites

Announcement of project titles

Today we need to decide the project titles! Get ready with proposals.

A very simple project example is also available - see "Example of a design project" in the available moodle resources

Week 4 - Mechanics of composite laminates

There are also some quizzes in this weeks resources. Try them...

Exercises on composite design and analysis

This week we have an exercise session. Come to the class to solve exercises and address your questions

Filippo Mannino will be there to help you with any queries you might have

Strength of composite materials
