Course summary

Dear all; dear participants to BIO698

I am really looking forward to meet with each of you and to getting to your proactive participation during the next fall semester to the BIO698 flipped class « the making of an innovative medicine »
I am a passionate biomedical scientist and I hope that I’ll be able to pass on to you my contagious passion !

with a medical education I move into quantitative molecular biology during my graduate studies at the ETHZ in Zürich and my postdoc stay at the MIT Cancer Research Center in Boston USA.
back in Switzerland later I happened to run a drug discovery unit in metabolic diseases with big pharma F. Hoffmann-LaRoche in Basel while running a faculty position in biomedicine with the BIozentrum from University of Basel

Now honorary professor UNIBAS, I have the privilege to collaborate with the MD PhD program UNIL-EPFL and to design and run on behalf of the EPFL EDOC the BIO 698 flipped class with each of the participants.

Mehdi Ali Gadiri, Timothee Ferrari and Justine Epiney graduate trainees with EDOC MD PhD program were very helpful in setting up the communication channel that shall enable us to discuss/ask questions on any topics related to the various fields of biomedical research and unmet medical needs we are going to address during the coming fall semester.

with best regards
Roger
