General Information

Course Summary and Goals

This course provides an introduction to image processing, as well as to image-processing software development and prototyping. Our goals are to

  • provide the mathematical foundations and the practical techniques for the manipulation of images,
  • introduce image-processing software development in Python and also JavaScript,
  • show you applications to real-world examples in industrial vision and biomedical imaging.

Assessment

The objectives of the course will be assessed as follows:

  • 70% final exam;
  • 30% IP labs:  Lab 0 (1%) +  Lab 1 (9%) +  Lab 2 (10%) + Lab 3 (10%).

Exercises

Exercises are released on Mondays and solutions are published on Fridays.



IP Labs

  • The IP labs are in the form of Jupyter notebooks that are supposed to be solved on Noto, the JupyterHub of EPFL.
  • The finished labs should first be downloaded locally and then submitted here on Moodle in the correct format.
  • The submission deadline is 11 days after the release, on Monday at 23:59.
