Description

The goal of this exercise is for you to (1) think about what the relationship that you have with the student(s) you supervise and how this influences your interactions and therefore their learning and (2) consider what action you can take to establish constructive learning relationship.

Please copy the questions into a document, add your responses and submit it as a PDF. You should aim for about 400-600 words total.

Question 3a Recall an interaction with your student(s) that went quite poorly. Write a short description that includes what led up to the interaction, who was involved, what you wanted to accomplish in the interaction and what occured. Try to provide brief but specific details of what happened.

Question 3b Thinking about the 3 dimensional model of student-teacher emotional relationships, which of your actions/responses contributed to the emotional climate underpiinning this incident? What effect did they have on the dimension(s)? What actions or responses could you employ in the future to foster an emotional environment that better supports your desired outcomes?
