Choose a cutting edge experimental technique or procedure that is interesting or important to you. Think about how to guide your learners to think like an expert in the field - what are the disciplinary perspectives or mental habits of your field?

Use the lesson planning matrix (PDF below) to ensure that you plan for significant cognitive engagement on the part of your learners. Your mini lesson should be built around 1-2 specific learning outcomes and include both active learning and formative feedback (per lesson planning matrix).
