Description
The purpose of these tasks is to improve our understanding of how people learn and what teachers can do accordingly. Please allow 30 minutes for this step.
- Read the first extract (PDF below) "A scientific or engineering mindset" from "Reaching Students: What Research Says About Effective Instruction in Undergraduate Science and Engineering" (L. Kober, 2015).
- Read “Chapter 8: Research findings about the thinking that gives rise to learning” from "Facilitating Experiential Learning in Higher Education" (Tormey & Isaac, 2022) pp 195 - 213. As you read, think about when the 8 key aspects that support learning were present in your own experience (PDF available when connected to EPFL VPN) https://doi.org/10.4324/9781003107606
