Presentation of the laboratory
During this semester, you will have the opportunity to have practical work on acoustics along various topics, among which:
- initiation to Matlab programing to acoustics - analysis and synthesis of complex musical sounds
- Simulation of physical sound sources and acoustic propagation on COMSOL Multiphysics, including loudspeakers
- Sound absorption coefficient measurements of acoustic materials in an impedance tube
- Sound absorption coefficient measurements of acoustic materials in a reverberant chamber
- Room modes measurements in the reverberant chamber (COMSOL simulations + measurements)
- Loudspeaker characterization in free field (COMSOL simulations + measurements)
This first week is devoted to programming Matlab codes for sound recording and analysis.
- A 1st lab guides you through Matlab to unveil some signal processing tools for audio
- The 2nd lab will allow you synthesize a piano notes mimicking physical features of such a sound.
- Lab06- Room modes (COMSOL simulations + experimental exercise) (File)
- Matlab computation of H1 with the time signal recordings on NetdB (File)
