Installation of the Smash simulator

All the simulation examples are performed with the circuit simulator called Smash from Dolphin Integration. You can download a trial version of the Smash simulator. The trial version has limited functionality but should be fine for most of the circuits we will study.

Once you have installed Smash it is better to add the path to the Smash binary to your Windows Environment variables. In order to do this in Windows 10 (probably similar in Windows 11), open Settings>Sytem>About. On the right panel click Advanced system settings.



Click in the Environment Variables... button which open this dialog box


Select the line with the Path variable and add the path to the directory containing the Smash binary file as shown below.



You now should be ready to run the Smash simulations from the Jupyter Notebooks.
