- Review the structure of the density matrix for a harmonic oscillator. What is the density matrix for a thermal state? What do the digonal/off-diagonal elements represent.
- Which Lindblad operators give rise to Eq (1)?
- How can one distinguish energy relaxation from dephasing?
- Briefly explain how to prepare arbitrary superpositions of Fock states?
- Consider the dephasing Hamiltonian for a harmonic oscillator. What would be the procedure for taking into account the pure dephasing dynamics in the Langevin approach?
