Description
Hello everyone,
The 2nd lecture of the course ''EE-582 Lessons Learned from Space Exploration'' will take place this Thursday 06.03, starting at 13h15, in room MXG-110.
Topics covered: the "Moon Race" between the United States (Apollo program) and the Soviets (Soyuz, Zond, N-1 and Luna programs). 2 files are attached below.
Tomorrow is also a very special and busy day for space exploration, if all that is planned goes well:
- Ariane-6 2nd launch (French military satellite). Take-off fixed @ 17h24. At the end of the lecture (≈ 17h) I will connect to the ESA transmission line to follow the first part of the flight.

- Landing on the Moon of the Intuitive Machine IM-2 probe (with a small rover and a Hopper, as well as NASA payloads) at 18:32. NASA transmission begin around 17h30. I will resume it after the initial phase of the Ariane 6 flight.

- For those staying up late… and wanting to follow it, the 8th flight of the SpaceX Starship is scheduled for 0h30 (opening of the launch window). A live webcast of the flight test will begin about 30 minutes before liftoff.
