Description

Teaching assistants: Hanbit Lee, Simón Ladino Cano

This session introduces system dynamics as a fundamental approach for studying complex urban systems. Students will learn how Causal Loop Diagrams (CLDs) serve as essential tools to visualize interactions between social, economic, and environmental factors, to understand how feedback loops shape system behavior, and to identify unintended consequences and leverage points for change. The exercise will directly support your project work by allowing you to apply CLDs to analyze the dynamic causal relationships in your city case (relevant for Step 4).
