Each week there are two lectures
and an exercise session, for which you are divided as follows, in alphabetic order according to your surname
- Thursday (16:15 - 18:00) in rooms CE1101 (from Abd to Dry), CE1103 (from Duc to Lle), CE1105 (from Lop to Son), PHH331 (from Spa to Zor).
Both the lecture and the exercise session are required parts of the course. You can watch recordings of the lectures here.
Every week we will provide
- lecture notes
- homework set + mini solutions + full solutions
You should do the homework set at home and/or in the exercise session. Additionally, there will be 3 "graded" homeworks and a mock exam in the second half of the semester, where the assistants will give you a score. This is just for informational purposes, though, the score will not contribute to your final grade (it's meant as exam preparation).
Additional resouces (unofficial - so please do not use in place of our lecture notes, but simply to further your understanding; if you encounter any discrepancy, please defer to our lecture notes or ask the teachers).
- textbook: "Linear algebra and applications" by Lay
- Youtube playlist
- types notes: by Kalam Walmsey
80 % of the course material is common between all the sections and follows the list given here.
20 % are specific for this course. We will treat the following topics:
- complex eigenvalues
- singular value decomposition
- linear ODEs
