In this seminar, Dr. Estephan will provide an inside look into real-world geotechnical engineering practice, outlining how consultancy teams plan and manage site investigations, interpret complex subsurface data, and translate findings into practical design recommendations. Drawing on his experience at Dar, he will illustrate the full project workflow through selected case studies that highlight the challenges and decision-making behind major infrastructure projects.
About the speaker
Dr. Roger Estephan is the Director of Geotechnical and heavy civil engineering at Dar. He obtained his PhD in geotechnical engineering from the Ecole national des ponts et chaussées in 2003 and has been working at Dar since 2005. Dar is one of the world’s leading consultancies, providing design, planning, engineering, sustainability consulting, digital solutions and services, and project management for buildings, cities, transportation, civil infrastructure, water and the environment. It has over 9,000 professionals in 54 offices across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
