Session ID: optimisation

In order to make the course more interactive, we will use from time to time a voting system allowing students to answer (anonymously) multiple choice questions.

Votes can be made in two ways:

Zone

When first using, the application may ask you for the zone. Choose the Europe region. If you made a mistake, this can be changed in the application settings.

Identification

The site or application will ask you to login. This is not necessary, even if it is written Participant information Required. You can access it as a guest without filling in the fields. If you identify yourself, this is not a problem, and the information will not be used (see the legal aspects below).

Session ID

The information to provide that is important is the session id: optimisation .

Legal aspects

Voting results are collected by Turning Technologies LLC and transmitted in real time on the teacher's PowerPoint presentation. They are not used to evaluate a particular student.

The student can use at his choice, the mobile application or the website. It is important that the application or site is used without identification (in guest mode only). Guarantees have also been obtained from Turning Technologies LLC, which acts as a subcontractor and does not use personal data for its own benefit. The data transmitted when using this application can be processed abroad, including in the USA.

If the student chooses to identify himself, he does so under his own responsibility and then enters into a direct contractual relationship with Turning Technologies LLC on which the EPFL has no control. The specific guarantees obtained by EPFL may no longer apply. For any additional questions, please contact the EPFL Teaching Support Center.
