MCR Evaluation Rubric
Description
Dear student,
You will find attached the final evaluation rubric (called "2024_MCR_evaluation_rubric.pdf") that will be used to grade your Mission Concept Review presentation.
Note that this document is an updated version of the old and simple evaluation rubric that you may have seen before. That old and simple rubric is still attached in the file-box bellow (named "[OLD]__2024_MCR_evaluation_rubric.pdf") as a reference, but will NOT be used for grading. Only the final one (attached here) will.
Below are some explanations to understand the rubric:
- Per topic, the expected content in your presentation is defined.
- Per expected content, a quality level is defined in text form. This quality level is associated with a grade (out of 6), which will be ticked off by the us, the teaching team, when the level is deemed achieved by you.
- If the teaching team choses for a given content the grade of e.g. 4/6 and 5/6 (i.e. you have provided sufficient level of quality to achieve a grade of 4/6, but have also some aspects needed for a grade of 5/6), then the grade will be placed in the middle. In this case, a grade of 4.5/6 would be given for this content item.
- The final grade is rounded to the nearest quarter, as described in the Rubric.
Important (about the 6/6 grade): The rubric has been designed such that a grade of 6/6 would only be achievable by the most ambitious students. We have purposefully added elements in the quality level of a grade of 6/6, which go beyond what is expected for this MCR. Therefore, do not worry if you do not have all the elements described for the grade 6/6 and focus on the other grades. But, you are encouraged to work towards a grade of 6/6 if you want to excel ;-)
